Before you begin,

you'll need the following: .

USB Flash Drive (4GB minimum).

Windows 7 ISO Image file.

http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

Note: If UNetbootin doesn't work, try:
http:// wudt.codeplex.com/

made by Microsoft themselves.

The first thing you'll need to do, is plug in
your USB drive, run UNetbootin, and select
"Disk Image as ISO". Once you've done that, browse for your
Windows 7 iso file and click Open. Now make sure the Type is set to USB Drive, and
choose your USB's drive letter. Now click OK and it will start extracting all

the Installation files to the USB drive, as well
as creating a boot loader, so that you can
boot into your USB drive. Note: The whole extraction could take some
time (10-15 minutes) depending on how
good your system is. Once the extraction/installation is complete,
leave your USB drive plugged in, and reboot
your computer. Now while your system is starting up,
press
the appropriate button to bring up your Boot
Menu, then boot from your USB, rather than
your HDD. If you can't boot straight into your USB,
you'll
need to change the boot order in your BIOS.
That's a pretty simple thing to do, so just ask your best friend Google. You should now be able to install Windows 7
straight from your USB flash drive. Congrats!

**EDIT** Why would you want to do this? Well, there's a few reasons why. 1. You don't have to waste a disc, or even
have one..
2. Windows will install a LOT faster than it
does if you use a disc.
3. You won't need a CD/DVD drive. **EDIT #2** Just to clear things up, you can in fact use this
method on older computers with a free free
program called Plop, which can be found
HERE. Plop Feature List: .USB boot without BIOS support (UHCI, OHCI
and EHCI)
.CD/DVD boot without BIOS support (IDE)
.PCMCIA CardBus support to enable boot from
USB PC-Cards
.Floppy boot .Different profiles for operating systems
.Define up to 16 partitions
.No extra partition for the boot manager
.Hidden boot, maybe you have a rescue

.that there is another system installed .Boot countdown

.Starting from Windows boot menu .Starting from LILO, GRUB, Syslinux, Isolinux,
